Mummy’s Prints
Children’s hand and foot casting in your home in Taunton and 15 miles surrounding

Meet Mummy’s Prints
When I was two weeks postpartum with my second baby, I tried to capture his tiny hands while he napped. Reading a whole booklet of instructions while breastfeeding, it was a lot harder than I expected. We ended up with missing fingers and plaster where it shouldn’t be, and I was gutted. So, I tried again with our toddler and got better. And again with my newborn nephew. With some practice, I began to fall in love with capturing these little hands and feet and thought I’d have loved someone to come do this for me when I couldn’t. I had previously achieved a first in Fine and Applied Arts with Marketing at university which included sculpture, but ended up following marketing and working at Musgrove Park Hospital as a communications officer. After a lot of practice and refining my skills, at the end of my maternity leave with my second, I decided to go part time and set up this new venture which makes it easier to save those memories for parents around Taunton. I’ll come to your home and capture your little one, from newborn to 18 years old, with beautiful casts to treasure.
I’m based in Taunton, Somerset and cover 15 miles surrounding.

FAQ
How can I prepare my baby for the session?
For younger children I recommend having some milk on hand, you’re very welcome to breastfeed if you do so, as the best hand casts are done when your baby is napping. For older children, we can use distractions such as their favourite show, or I have been known to sing songs! The alginate we use to cast takes only a minute or so to set to capture wonderful detail in your child’s hands.
Where do sessions usually take place?
I am a home based caster which means I visit you in your home and am insured for public liability. I bring my own mat and tea towels to minimise mess where I can but it is a bit of a messy process with powders and alginate so please wait until after the casting to hoover! I will need access to some warm water to make the alginate but otherwise will bring everything we need to capture some gorgeous little hands and feet.
Can I include siblings?
Of course! We love sibling sessions and can include several children in your casting. For more than 12 casts (each hand/foot) we can split it into two sessions. I’ve done sessions where cousins have all had their casts done together and am happy to discuss group bookings.
How far do you cover?
I cover Taunton, Somerset and the surrounding 15 miles, including Wellington, North Petherton, Bridgwater, Ilminster and Langport.
How do I book?
Please send me an email or contact me on my social media to discuss what you would like. I’m happy to see examples and customise frames to suit you and your preferences. Once we have an idea of what you’d like, I will email you my booking form which includes an invoice and your options for colours etc. I ask for a 50% deposit to book your date, and the remaining on the day of the casting.
When do I receive the casts/frames back?
I will hand deliver your finished casts back six weeks later. I hand make my own box frames with hinges so they can be opened and touched rather than locked away. You can personalise how ever you like, with wording, a photo, different colours for the frame or box, or even include more special items of your choice.
